5 Best Scenic Views In Duluth, Georgia

Georgia’s major cities, like Atlanta, Augusta and Columbus all have tons of great activities and exciting adventures, but for those looking to get out of the city, there is nothing better than a great scenic view. Some have well paved paths, others have dirt trails and some are even equipped with great lookout spots.

If you are around Duluth, Georgia, here are some of the best scenic news you can find:

McDaniel Farm Park

3251 McDaniel Rd, Duluth, GA 30096

McDaniel Farm was a cotton farm that was drawn in the 1820 land lottery and remained a working farm well into the early 1900’s. It has been restored to its 1930’s form and the property has many period buildings, equipment and tools. Known for its rustic beauty and charm, McDaniel Farm Park is great for all types of activities, photos and picnics. Tours are available and there is a pavilion and grills as well as three miles of multipurpose trails.

One of the nice things about some of the best views at McDaniel Farm Park is that they can be easily accessed by fairly short, easily walkable paved trails.

Pinckneyville Park

4707 S Old Peachtree Rd Norcross, GA 30071

Pinckneyville Park is a well manicured park with great upkeep and nice natural views. It is 94 acres, and the walking trails circle the park and its soccer complex. This place is super family friendly and dogs are welcome. There are playgrounds, pavilions, a small pond, picnic tables and a grill. The park itself is lovely, but if you are looking for legitimate hiking trails this is likely not the place for you. Pinckneyville Park is better for spending the day outside with family and friends and enjoying the scenery.

Jones Bridge Park

4901 E Jones Bridge Rd Norcross, GA 30092

Jones Bridge Park offers spectacular views of the Chattahoochee River. The park has a trail that loops through the riverside forest and down by the river bank. It runs a little less than five miles and features not only the river itself, but the woods and wildlife nearby as well. The trail used to loop past an old hoisted bridge built in 1904, for which it was named. Large sections of the bridge were stolen in the 1940’s and the last remnants of the bridge fell away in January, 2018.

The park has pavilions, grills, and makes for a wonderful afternoon of fun. Don’t forget to bring a swimsuit, as you can swim here!

Garrard Landing Park

8000 Holcomb Bridge Rd Alpharetta, GA 30022

Garrard Landing Park gives you easy access to the Chattahoochee river for canoe and kayak launching as well as fishing. The park has beautiful views of the river as well as a nice wooded area and open green spaces for activities and dog walking. The trails, which run through both the wooded areas and by the river, are either paved or gravel covered. The park is very popular for photographers as well as families getting outside to enjoy the day.

Suwanee Creek Park

1170 Buford Hwy Suwanee, GA 30024

Thanks to bond funding, the city of Suwanee has been able to expand, upgrade, restore and otherwise care for the parks within their city. Suwanee Creek Park has benefitted from this funding as well. The park has two rentable pavilions, picnic tables and an 18 hole disc golf course. The park is also home to the Suwanee Creek Greenway Trailhead. There are great scenic views of nature throughout the wooded areas, wetlands, and wildlife habitat of the trail.
